Inaccessible and seated high in the mountains of northern Peru, is the municipality of Carmen de La Frontera. In these high, cool mountains, and cultivated around ample sugar cane, coffee grows slowly and develops incredible complexity. 

Until recently, Carmen de La Frontera was only accessible by one dirt road, and because of that many producers sold their coffee to third parties at whatever price they were willing to pay. New construction has connected Carmen de La Frontera to Namballe, a larger community in Piura, enabling local producers to organize and bring their coffee to market in San Ignacio, a coffee trading hub.
