Alana's Coffee Roasters is committed to making our website usable for everyone, including people with disabilities. Everyone should be able to browse, shop, and reach us comfortably and independently.

The standard we aim for

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. We also work to meet our obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

How we build accessibility in

We build accessibility into the site's design and code, with a focus on:

  • Keyboard access: operating interactive elements without a mouse, with visible focus indicators
  • Clear labels and names: clear, descriptive names for buttons, links, and form fields
  • Text alternatives: meaningful alternative text for images
  • Logical structure: headings and page landmarks that let pages be navigated by structure
  • Readable contrast: color contrast that keeps text readable
  • Status messages: announcing important updates, such as adding an item to the cart, to assistive technology

These priorities support WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We test with automated tools and with manual keyboard and screen-reader checks across the different types of pages on the site.

An ongoing commitment

Based on our own automated and manual testing, we believe our website substantially conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Accessibility is not a one-time project — we continue to review new content and code, test regularly, and fix issues as we find them.

Known limitations

Some parts of the site rely on third-party services we don't fully control, such as our payment and subscription tools and any embedded or user-generated content. These may not always meet the same standard. If you run into a barrier in any of these, please tell us and we'll help you finish what you were doing.
