Story:
The Don Sabino micromill is a father-son project started in 2011 by Esteven Varags and his father, Hiver. They manage the milling for a small handful of coffee farms in Costa Rica’s Central Valley. For them, coffee is a way of life, and that dedication shows in the cup.
Finca La Reina grows several varietals–Caturra, Geisha, SL-28–but this catuai separation really shines. In the cup, we get deep, rich, fudgy chocolate, with a sparkling berry-like acidity. It’s both familiar and challenging; something for everybody.
